Toyota Tundra Truck Caps & Canopies in Canada
Every ArcTrek shell that lists the Toyota Tundra lists it with one bed length, 5.5': the Adventure Topper, Commercial Topper and Canopy Camper. The Tundra itself comes with more than one box, so the first job is finding out whether yours is the one those rows describe.
UPDATED
Three Tundra beds, one ArcTrek row
Toyota Canada's truck buying guide gives the Tundra three bed options: 5.5- and 6.5-foot beds with the CrewMax cab, and 6.5- and 8.1-foot beds with the double cab. That describes the truck, not which shell fits it. Measure your own box and check your model year's documents rather than going by the cab name.
| Tundra bed (Toyota Canada) | Cab Toyota lists with it | ArcTrek Tundra rows with this bed length |
|---|---|---|
| 5.5' | CrewMax | Adventure Topper, Commercial Topper, Canopy Camper |
| 6.5' | CrewMax, double cab | None listed; ask ArcTrek |
| 8.1' | Double cab | None listed; ask ArcTrek |
On ArcTrek's fitment-by-truck page, the year column for all three Tundra rows reads “Confirm model year”. A 5.5' box matches the row; it does not by itself confirm the fit.
Payload on a full-size Tundra
Toyota Canada's guide puts the full-size Tundra's payload at up to 1,940 lbs (880 kg). “Up to” is the top of the range; a given cab, bed and trim can carry less, and the figure that applies to your truck is printed on its Tire and Loading Information placard. ArcTrek's half-ton canopy weight guide treats the Tundra as a half-ton and walks through the check: occupants and cargo together, with the canopy counted as cargo.
ArcTrek's product pages do not publish shell weights. Ask for the shipping weight of the 5.5' Tundra fitment you are considering, then add a roof tent or rack load, passengers and gear before you compare against the placard.
Picking a line for your Tundra
Adventure Topper
The Adventure Topper pitches itself as security, modular storage and rugged looks in one shell, with gull-wing side access at cab height. It suits a Tundra that carries gear more often than it carries a bed to sleep on.
Commercial Topper
The Commercial Topper is ArcTrek's work canopy for trades and fleets. Its product page lists integrated load rails for ladders and conduit, plus a rear door and dual side gull-wings keyed alike, which matters if the Tundra is a job-site truck.
Canopy Camper
The Canopy Camper adds an integrated pop-up roof tent and sleeps two adults on a queen-size platform. Its product page rates it for a static roof load of 660 lb (300 kg); that is a parked rating, separate from the truck's payload, which the camper and everything in it still count against.
Before you ask about a Tundra fitment
- Model year and cab (CrewMax or double cab).
- The bed length you measured, with units, instead of a “short bed” label.
- Photos of the bed and tailgate, and a note on any liner, rail covers or accessories already in place.
- Which line you want and what will ride on or in it, so payload, roof-load and mounting can be checked against the truck and product documents.

Tundra truck cap questions
Which ArcTrek shells list a Toyota Tundra fitment?
The Adventure Topper, Commercial Topper and Canopy Camper product pages each list the Toyota Tundra with a 5.5' bed. On the fitment-by-truck page, all three Tundra rows read "Confirm model year".
My Tundra has a 6.5' or 8.1' bed. Is there an ArcTrek cap for it?
Not on the current Tundra rows, which show 5.5' only. Toyota Canada lists 6.5' beds for the CrewMax and double cab and an 8.1' bed for the double cab, so a longer box is a real configuration; ask ArcTrek about it rather than ordering a 5.5' fitment.
Does a Tundra CrewMax take the 5.5' ArcTrek fitment?
Toyota Canada pairs the 5.5' bed with the CrewMax cab, so a CrewMax with that bed is the Tundra the ArcTrek rows point to. Model year still has to be confirmed, so send your year and a measured bed length before choosing a shell.
How much payload should I leave for a canopy on a Tundra?
Toyota Canada gives the full-size Tundra's payload as up to 1,940 lbs (880 kg); your truck's own figure is on its Tire and Loading Information placard. ArcTrek's product pages do not publish shell weights, so ask for the shipping weight of the exact fitment and add people, gear and anything mounted on the roof.
Where can I discuss a Tundra truck cap in Canada?
Use ArcTrek's Find a Dealer page, or request a quote with your Tundra's model year, cab, measured bed length and photos of the bed and tailgate.
